Propellant Processing Technician

Nammo Defense Systems Inc., a defense contractor, manufactures and supports shoulder-fired systems; energetic material solutions such as aircraft emergency escape systems, actuation devices, rocket motors, warheads, medium & large caliber ammunitions, mortar ammunition; and composite solutions including carbon fiber tubes and composite aero-structures.

Primary Responsibilities as a Propellant Processing Technician:

• Ensures strict adherence to the Company's comprehensive safety policies and procedures

• Skillfully handles, weighs, transports, and stores chemical ingredients

• Perform basic assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures and inspection measurement equipment in a production environment

• Regularly handles hazardous and non-hazardous materials

• This position is responsible for ensuring the safe processing of products that meet customer and NDS quality requirements in accordance with time standards for his/her assigned area of production

• Utilizes computer systems and software to access vital documents and input data accurately

• Collaborates with Management, Engineering, Quality, and other stakeholders to identify and address issues, seize opportunities, and implement process improvements effectively

• OT required for Friday and Saturday as needed

• Performs minor set-up for specific equipment when required

Required Experience & Skills as a Propellant Processing Technician

• High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

• Strong ability to accurately read and interpret technical documents, including safety rules manufacturing operating and tooling instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• Willingness to work at heights, climb ladders and stairs, perform tasks in inclement weather conditions, operate around loud industrial equipment, and work outdoors

• Successful completion of a respirator fit test examination

• Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with NDS products
